It does not seem to make sense. 她为什么做这样的事?似乎没有道理。,3. by the way 顺便提一下 【点拨】by the way意为“顺便问一句;顺便提一下”,用来引出一个与谈话没有直接关系的话题,在句中的位置较为灵活,可放在句首、句中或句末。如: I want to tell you about my travel plans, but, by the way, hows your mother? 我想告诉你我的旅行计划,但顺便问一下,你母亲怎么样了?,4. maybe与may be 【辨析】(1)maybe是副词,意为“也许;可能”,在句中作状语,相当于perhaps,常位于句首。如: Maybe shell come this afternoon. 她可能今天下午来。,(2)在may be中,may是情态动词,be是动词,两者构成完整的谓语形式,与主语形成系表结构,意为“也许是;可能是”。如: I cant find my watch. It may be in your pocket. 我找不到我的手表了,它可能在你的口袋里。 (3)maybe和may be也可相互转换。如: He may be in the office. =Maybe he is in the office. 或许他在办公室。,5. receive, accept与take 【辨析】receive, accept和take这三个词都有“接受”的意思,但也有区别。 (1)receive只表示被动地接受。如: She has received his present, but she will not accept it. 她收到了他的礼物,但她是不会接受的。,(2)accept表示主动而且高兴地接受。如: The villagers have told him that they will not accept the inn even if he gives it away. 村民们告诉他说,即使他把那小旅馆白送给他们,他们也不会接受。 (3)take所表示的接受包含着有人赠给的意思。如: Did you take his advice? 你接受他的建议了吗? By the way, what do you think of Mark Twain, the great American writer in the nineteenth century? 顺便问一下,你觉得十九世纪伟大的美国作家马克吐温怎么样? 【点拨】(1)句型What do/does+主语+think of.?是用来问对方对某事物或某人的印象、评价或看法的,意为“某人觉得怎么样”。如:,What do you think of the new book? 你觉得这本新书怎么样? What does she think of her English teacher? 她觉得她的英语老师怎么样?,(2)回答时,多阐明自己的看法或表明自己喜欢的程度。常会用到下面的句型:主语+love(s)/like(s)/dont(doesnt) mind/dont(doesnt) like/ cant stand+宾语。如对例句回答,要表明不介意、不反对这本新书时,你可以说:I dont mind it.;对例句回答,要表明她喜欢她的英语老师,并说明原因,你可以说:She likes her English teacher because her class is very interesting.。,(3)What do you think of.?的句型可以用How do you like.?的句型替换。如例句可以转换为:How do you like the new book?,其意思不变。 对How do you like.?的句型进行回答时,除用(2)中的几种方式外,还可以根据情况用“主语+like(s)+宾语+very much(很/非常)/a little(有点儿).”或“主语+dont(doesnt) like+宾语+at all(一点也不).”的句型,分别表示“某人很(非常)/有点儿喜欢某人/某物”和“某人一点也不喜欢某人/某物”。如:,How do you like the popular singer? 你认为这个流行歌手怎么样? I like him very much. 我非常喜欢他。 How does she like the books? 她认为这些书怎么样?
