Common Name: profluralin 1.1 The word “profluralin” (pronounced pro-' flür-a- lin) has been accepted as the American National Stan- dard Common Name for the chemical N-(cyclopropyl- methyl)-cu,cu-trifluoro-2,6-dinitro-propyl-toluidine. 1.2 Acceptance signifies compliance with American National Standard Procedure for the Acceptance of an American National Standard Common Name for a Pest Control Chemical, K62.1-1968. 2. Use of Common Name 2.1 The common name applies to the 100% pure chemical. 2.2 Technical grades and formulations shall indicate the percentage of profluralin present; for example, proflura- lin - 95% minimum. 2.3 The Sponsor of the common name “profluralin” has agreed to release and permit the use of the name Name furnished upon request. “profluralin” with respect to any product, whether or not manufactured or formulated by it, which contains a pest control chemical conforming to the description set forth in this American National Standard. 3. Limitations Neither the American National Standards Institute nor its committee guarantees or assumes any responsibility that use of this name in connection with this or any other chemical or product will not infringe on or con- flict with any existing proprietary name, trademark, or trade name. Approval as an American National Stan- dard Common Name constitutes recognition by the Standards Institute that a consensus exists within a rep- resentative committee, operating under Institute pro- cedures and basing its recommendation on data sub- mitted by a Sponsor, favoring consideration of the use of the name to designate the pest control chemical described herein by all interested persons.
