Common Name: thifensulfuron 1.1 The word “thifensulfuron“ (pronounced thi-fén- s;al-f(y)a-rh) has been accepted as the American National Standard Common Name for the chemical 3- (4-methoxy-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)amino carbonylamino sulfonyl -2-thiophenecarboxylic acid. 1.2 Acceptance signifies compliance with American National Standard Common Name for a Pest Control Chemical-Procedure for Acceptance, ANSI K62.1-1985. 2. Use of Common Name 2.1 The common name applies to the 100% pure chemical. 2.2 Technical grades and formulations shall indicate the percentage of thifensuifuron present; for example, thifensulfuron methyl - approximately 10% thifensulfuron. 23 The sponsor' of the common name “thifensulfuron“ has agreed to release and permit the use of the name “thifensulfuron“ with respect to any Name furnished upon request Page 1 o f 3 pages product, whether or not manufactured or formulated by it, which contains a pest control chemical conforming to the description set forth in this American National Standard. 3. Limitations Neither the American National Standards Institutenor the Accredited Standards Committee for Common Names for Pest Control Chemicals, K62, guarantees or assumes any responsibility that use of this name in connection with this or any other chemical or product will not infringe on or conflict with any existing proprietary name, trademark, or trade name. Approval as an American National Standard Common Name constitutes recognition by the Institute that a consensus exists within Accredited Standards Committee K62, operating under Institute procedures and basing its recommendation on data submitted by a sponsor, favoring consideration of the use of the name to designate the pest control chemical described herein by ail interested persons. The information concerning the chemical and physical properties of the chemical is not a part of the standard but is provided solely as an aid to identification, and its accuracy is not guaranteed. An American National Standard implies a consensus of those substantially concerned with its scope and provisions. An American National Standard is intended as a guide to aid the manufacturer, the consumer, and the general public.
