It is identical with CECC 50009 Issue 4:1991: “Harmonized system of quality assessment for electronic components. Blank detail specification: Case-rated rectifier diodes” published by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) Electronic Components Committee (CECC). CECC 50009 Issue 4:1991 was prepared by CECC WG7: “Rectifier diodes and thyristors” and the United Kingdom participation in the drafting was provided by Technical Committee ECL/24: Semiconductors. In 1992 the CENELEC Electronic Components Committee (CECC) accepted CECC 50009:1991 as European Standard EN 150009:1992. This standard supersedes BS CECC 50009:1982 which remains valid to cover all existing approvals. Scope This standard lists the ratings, characteristics and inspection requirements which shall be included as mandatory requirements in accordance with BS CECC 50000 in any detail specification for these devices. The text of this standard consists of the text of BS CECC 50009 Issue 3 (1982) amended to include characteristics which apply to avalanche and controlled avalanche rectifier diodes. The Technical Committee has reviewed the provisions of CECC 00200 and CECC 00300 to which reference is made in the text and has decided that they are acceptable for use in conjunction with this standard. Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such national standards may be obtained on application to the General Secretariat of the CECC or to any CENELEC member. This European Standard exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language made by translation under the responsibility of a CENELEC member into its own language and notified to the CECC General Secretariat has the same status as the official versions. CENELEC members are the national electrotechnical committees of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom. The membership of the CECC is identical, with the exception of the national electrotechnical committees of Greece, Iceland and Luxembourg. The object of the System is to facilitate international trade by the harmonization of the specifications and quality assessment procedures for electronic components, and by the grant of an internationally recognized Mark, or Certificate, of Conformity. The components produced under the System are thereby acceptable in all member countries without further testing. This specification has been formally approved by the CECC, and has been prepared for those countries taking part in the System who wish to issue national harmonized specifications for Case-rated rectifier diodes. It should be read in conjunction with the current regulations for the CECC System. Copies of it can be obtained from the addresses shown on the blue fly sheet. Foreword This specification was prepared by CECC WG 7 “Rectifier diodes and thyristors”. It is based, wherever possible, on the Publications of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The CECC voting procedure for the conversion of publication CECC 50009 Issue 4:1991 to EN has resulted in a positive vote. The voting report document CECC(Secretariat)3255/11.92 has been submitted for formal approval and has been accepted. The reference document was approved by CECC as EN 150009:1992 on 3 December 1992. Preface This blank detail specification was prepared by CECC WG 7: Rectifier diodes and thyristors. It is based, wherever possible, on the Publications of the International Electrotechnical Commission. The text of this Issue 4 consists of the text of CECC 50009 Issue 3 (1982) amended in accordance with the ratified new material (specifying the characteristics which apply to avalanche and controlled avalanche rectifier diodes only) introduced in the following document: Effective date This Issue 4 shall become effective for all new applications for qualification approval on 15 August 1991. Issue 3 shall remain valid to cover all past approvals. NOTEIt is recognized that the lay-out proposed cannot be applied to all detail specifications based on this document. For instance, it may be preferrable to indicate the limiting values in the form of a table when several similar devices appear in the same specification.
