NOTE - Laminated c o r e s are normally constructed from laminations made from material o f t h e composition corresponding t o t h e designation C22, E l , E3, E4 or F1 (see Table I o f IEC Publication 740). 2 Definitions 2.1 General terms For definitions of the general terms used, reference should be made to IEC Publication 50(901) and its supplement 50(901 B) . For the purpose of this standard, the following definition applies: 2.2 laminated core package: A magnetic core in two parts, each made up of laminations suitably jointed together for assembly within a coil. NOTE - When required, an air gap may be introduced, preferably i n th e centre limb o f one part. 3 Laminations 3.1 Lamination shape For the purpose of this standard, the laminations shall conform to the dimensions of IEC type YEE 2 laminations specified in Table XI of IEC Publication 740. However, in addition to the standard configuration using the combination of larger and smaller E laminations to form a complete magnetic circuit as shown in Figure 1, page 9, the range of specified cores also includes provision for combining pairs of the larger E lami- nations (see Figure 2, page 11). NOTE - L'entrefer de la jambe centrale peut être introduit par meulage de l'une ou d e s deux parties du noyau, ou faconné au s t a d e de tôle découpée. Toutes les dimensions indiquées dans cette norme sont en millimètres. NOTE - I n each case, a centre limb a i r gap may be introduced by grinding one o r both parts o f the core, o r by tooling i n the gap a t the lamination stage.
