Central Idea: Independent travel is the best way of tourism because of three merits-more freedom, arranging the travel according to your needs, and experiencing a more authentic life when traveling by yourself. Introduction I. Good morning, everyone. (smile) II. Today, I have a question for you. If you are going to travel in Sichuan province, which way of tourism do you prefer, a packaged travel or an independent travel (show my hands)? II. For packaged travel (one hand), most of you must have experienced a lot, especially when you went out with your parents. But now, as a college student (the other hand), I could say that independent travel must be the best way of tourism (stress). IV. And, what is an independent travel? It is a self-arranged travel, which means you have to book the tickets and hotel rooms in advance and to organize your travel route and schedule. V. So today, I will show you three (fingers) merits of the independent travel to explain why it is the best way of tourism. Body I. First of all (finger), independent travel gives us more (fist) freedom. A. Unlike packaged travel, independent travel means no one can limit you. 1. You dont have to always follow a group raising a colored flag (wave my hands ) or to wait people who go to the toilet for such a long period. 2. Or if somewhere is attractive enough, you can choose to stay longer to enjoy the beautiful scenery. (Transition: Actually, freedom is just a beginning. The second one is truly the most exciting one.) II. You can always arrange your route according to your special needs. A. Packaged travel often has a certain (stress) route which may contain many unwanted places, but independent travel will follow your own desires. Where to go is totally depended on you (point to myself). B. And also you can change your route randomly. 2 (Transition: So, what about the last merit? I regard it as the most significant one.) (fist) III. That is to enjoy an authentic culture of the place you travel to. A. Because you arrange it by yourself, you must have known a lot about the place before you go there. B. Travelling by yourself also gives you chances to be in touch with local food, people and culture (fingers). 1. You may make friends when you are asking for directions. 2. You may go somewhere famous for its delicious local food. 3. It also gives you enough time and private space to feel the culture of the place, not being disturbed (stress) by the guide and the group you are in. Conclusion I. As you can see, the merits of independent travel will bring you so many things. Why not choose it as your way of tourism. You will certainly have an unforgettable experience. II. If you are going to try, I would like to give you a poem to wish you a best trip. A. Travel is like a long road, not a destination. B.
