With the importance of the skin as the beginning, the causes of burns, types as well as characteristics of burns are introduced according to the degree of burns, and finally the steps of treatment are listed. The text is well organized with a clear structure. However, the information about treatment for different degree burns is a little scattered.Analysis of the studentsThe students are from Class 8 of Senior 2 in No.97 Middle School, a class of art. There are 47 students in total, the majority of whom are girls. The atmosphere of learning English is relatively good, but their lack of reading skills and the small vocabulary result in great difficulty in reading. Different from other classes of art, they are likely to get involved in activities. One student does the task in the blackboard. Then all the class assess the result. to clarify the general steps of treatment for burns and train the skills of scanning for certain information Step 4: First aid mission (Group work)Students are given the mission card with the content and instruction printed in it. Teacher explains the task by showing a video. Then students cooperate to accomplish the mission by searching for suitable treatment. Then students fill the blanks of Task 3(2).to stimulate students to read and learn with the mission as their motivationIV Post-reading Some groups are asked to perform by using the first aid box in the stage. After their performance, teacher gives comment and summarizes the suitability of each treatment step.V Review of the lesson to check if the students extract the appropriate treatment to solve problems; to sort out the knowledge learnedVI HomeworkStudents search for more information to help the following people (choose 1 or 2) and use imperative sentences to write out the instructions.to extend first aid to more aspects
